"Peggotty's Seaside Cottage" Tan

- "Peggotty's Seaside Cottage" Dept. 56 Item #55506. Introduced 1989 and retired 1992. Mint condition piece in original box & sleeve. This overturned boat converted into a cottage belongs to Daniel Peggotty in Dickins' "David Copperfield". It is strongly believed that Dickens based his Peggotty's Cottage on an actual boat-turned-dwelling on the bank of the canal at Gravesend. There is also a Green version that is available. This piece is 1 of the 3-piece set called "David Copperfield". The other two pieces are called "Betsy Trotwood's Cottage" & "Solicitor (Mr. Wickfield)." The companion figures are called "David Copperfield Characters." All these pieces are sold separately by us.
