- "Tower Bridge Of London" Dept. 56 Dickens Village Historical Landmark Series. This 2003 special issue is a numbered limited edition of a total of 20,000 pieces created. Item #58705. This is a set of 4 which includes a special 20th Anniversary Pin. This is a replica of the Tower Bridge that still stands today over the Themes River. It is access to the Tower Of London which protects the Crown Jewels of England and is infamous for its beheading executions. In 1894, the Victorians built one of London's best-loved landmarks, the Tower Bridge. Featuring two towers rising 200 feet and glass covered pedestrian walkways, this is the only movable bridge on the Thames River (the bascules on this piece can be raised and lowered manually). Charles Dickens was a frequent patron of its riverside pubs such as the Grapes. Mint condition piece in original box & sleeve. Size: 26" x 5.5" x 11.5".
