- "Town Wall Sections" Set of 2, Dept. 56 Little Town Of Bethlehem Item #59908. Introduced 2000 and retired 2005. Located in the rolling Judean Hills, about five miles south of Jerusalem, lies the little town of Bethlehem. Like may ancient cities of the Near East, Bethlehem had been surrounded by a protective wall since the time of King David. City walls were constructed of stone and mortor or mud brick erected on a stone foundation. Low walls were also used to define field boudaries. These pieces coordinate with the Town Gate. Mint condition piece in original box & sleeve. Size: 6" x 2".
