- "White House" Dept. 56 American Pride Item #57701. Introduced 2002 and retired 2005. Mint condition piece in original box & sleeve. Included is the porcelain building facade with light cord, Department 56 Patriot Pin, and collectible scroll describing various facets of the White House from conception. Size: 11.5" x 5.75" x 6.5". The White House is more than the residence of our current President. Symbolizing the peaceful transition of power and the changing political parties we have experienced through 43 Presidents, the White House is truly a house that belongs to all American people. The Pledge of Allefiance, on the back of this building, underscores our pride in our flag and our nation. Inclusive on the scroll is- "I pray heaven to bestow the best blessings on this house and all that shall hereafter inhabit it. May none but honest and wise men ever rule under the roof." -John Adams, from the dedicatory prayer made on the first night of occupancy in November, 1800.
